✧ . ganyu does not return to her secretary position in my blog canon; her story quest is about her human-lin identity and learning to live for herself while still honoring her commitment to protect liyue harbor.
✧ . i consider morax / rex lapis her biological father. her 'blind devotion' to rex lapis is more so a daughter looking up to their father with ( heavy ) rose tinted glasses on.

i. ganyu's existence serves as living proof of the bonds that can be forged between the world of humans and adepti despite their differences. still, ganyu often struggles with finding a sense of identity and belonging between the people of liyue and her fellow adepti. although ganyu may be uncertain of her own place within the world of teyvat, her devotion towards her father - liyue's archon, rex lapis - has never wavered over the years.

ii. like most qilin, ganyu values benevolence and peace; a belief she spreads to various aspects of her life, including being an active vegetarian. nevertheless, ganyu will not run away from conflict if she deems it necessary to do so. she was one out of many who answered morax's call and aided him during the archon war - a war she would lose her own mother in. once the war was over, ganyu forged her first contract with the god of contracts himself.

iii. ganyu places honoring her contract with the geo archon above all else, working diligently to make sure liyue remains protected in his name. this, however, has lead to her devoting herself so much to her position in liyue that she has left very little time to for herself. due to her 'dedication' to her work, ganyu may come off somewhat distant to others but those who take the time to know her quickly learn that she's a sweet, caring person that looks after those around her.

iv. the death of rex lapis is noticeably hard on the half adeptus; so much so that the secretary quits her job and retreats to jueyun karst, the home of the adepti. unbeknownst to most, the geo archon had become like a father figure to ganyu and his death leaves her feeling lost and confused about her place in the world. however, with the assistance of the traveler and paimon, ganyu begins to slowly learn how to live a life outside of simply honoring her contract.
